Clinical Observation of Decubitus Ulcer


Abstract
Thirty cases of Decubitus Ulcer patients treated at Chonnam University Medical School Hospital during 10 years from January -of 1964 to December of 1973 were reviewed and the following results were obtained 1. Preponderance of male to female (23: 7) was noted. 2. The common etiologic disease was traumatic in origin (60%) such as traumatic cord injury and traumatic head injury.
3. Prevalent age distribution was between 3rd decade and 5th decade (80%). 4. The most frequent site of the lesion was sacral region which was easily
pressed in a patient confined to bed for a-long period of time.
5. It seems that regular two-Hourly change of patient¢¥s position during day and night is best choice of preventive measure in decubitus ulcer.
